There is an emotional tug-a-war from the beginning to the end of this story, but it’s eclipsed by the deep, abiding love Scar and Hana share.įilthy is quintessential Tia Louse. With his past, Scar fights his attraction to Hana, leaving Filthy strewn with moments of overwhelming emotion and eroticism. He is protective and makes her feel safe. The trauma of abuse while also feeling inadequate in the shadow of her sister has left its mark on her. Like Scar, Hana’s past has left her broken. The holes of his broken soul find completion in her. He cannot help but fall in love with Hana. Scar reminds me of a cinematic Jason Momoa, larger than life while also wanting to hide in the shadows. However, they find passion and their soulmate in each other, redeemed through the power of love. What we find in Filthy is a story of two people who feel broken and unloveable.

Louise leaves us teased by the end of her bonus epilogue, letting us know there is more suspense to this story.

Does it finish that story? Not in the least. Carrying on from the first book of her newest series of standalones, Filthy provides us with more story about the wilds of New York City and its underbelly. Tia Louise’s Filthy is that delectable combination of spicy, emotional, and suspenseful romance.
